What Home Business Do YOU Think Would Be Easiest To Start?

There are always questions about starting a home business - what would be the easiest to start?  What could start earning money for me quick?  What equipment do I have to have for a home business?

We've been talking a lot about the Clothing Alteration Business -- and the fact that if you have a sewing machine, know how to sew, can set up a small area away from the main "family" area, then you could just about be in business without spending any extra money.  Here, the deal is to get word out to friends, neighbors, flyers in local fabric shops, etc and you're on the way to getting started.

We've also talked about doing a Sewing Machine Repair as a Home Business type of business.  For this you don't need any other tools than what you'd already have.  If you are "mechanically" inclined, you'd really be ready to hit the road doing sewing machine repairs.  Even if you aren't the handiest person, or haven't worked on sewing machines, the Sewing Machine Repair business manual goes into detail about picking up a machine or two at yard sales or flea markets, then troubleshoot them and get them working in order to give yourself some experience.  (We've had people report to us that they were doing great at buying old machines cheap, fixing them up then selling them at a good profit).  There's quite a few things you can do with a sewing machine repair business.

Well, here's another thought ---- after my posts about cleaning out the closet and save money, and the second one about cleaning out the closet and MAKE money, I've had a ton of emails from people telling me that their "never to return to the closet again" stack of clothes was so big they HAD to do something with them.   Well, here they are, checking out the Cash From Your Crafts book to see what all they could make from those old clothes.  Now I'm thinking that the "crafts" market might be one that could be gotten into with NO extra money (use those old clothes) -- just dig out the sewing machines, match up the fabric with the craft projects and get going.  Once again, you might let your friends, neighbors, and relatives know what you're doing, so they can be looking through the things you're making.  You might also want to see what kind of Holiday craft shows are in your neighborhood -- this would be a fantastic way to use up those old clothes and make yourself some serious dollars!

If you're digging out the sewing machine that's been in the closet, attic or garage for a few months or a few years, you might want to check out the "Sewing Machine Repair for the Home Sewer" book so you can get your own machine in tip top shape (cleaned, oiled and adjusted), so you can begin making all those crafty things from your old clothes.
