How Do YOU Wake Up In The Morning?

In a frenzy because you overslept?  Ready to bite somebody's head off because you forgot to make coffee last night  so it would be ready when you drag yourself out of bed?

The statement "how you wake up in the morning is how your whole day will be" is so, so true!!!  Hit that snooze button a couple times too many, and you've already started the day off wrong!

I haven't used an alarm clock for probably 15 years - my body just seems to want to get up around 4:30 in the morning.  However, I can say that it doesn't matter if I wake up with a smile on my face, cranky or whatever because I'm always the first one up.  By the time everybody else is up I'm very well organized and ready for the day - and hopefully "fit to live with".

I'd like to pass along a few pointers about getting YOUR day off to a good start every day.

** Never hit the snooze button more than once - even once may be too often.  If you're so sleepy, try to get to bed 10 minutes earlier so you won't have to hit the snooze button at all.

** Getting kids ready for school -- we always had the kids lay out the clothes the night before that they want to wear to school so there's no last minute scrounging the closet or dirty clothes hamper for something they think they want to wear.  (This will be an easy one for little grandson Jacob who starts Kindergarted this year - his school has a uniform code!)

** Try making a short list of what you need to do first thing in the morning, so you can put every minute to use.  The bad thing for me is that if I have no earthly idea of what I plan to do when I get up (office work, computer work, etc), I seem to get nothing done.  However, (here's the "list" in me again), If I've jotted down a couple things as first on the list - do a post for the blog, get a few orders ready to mail, answer emails, etc - I can get a bunch of stuff done before anybody gets up.

The whole point here is that if you get off on the wrong foot in the morning, it seems like everything goes wrong all day long.  However, if you're up on time, get things together and done - kids off to school, husband off to work, your day organized OR you off to work, and all done within the time frame that you have, you'll feel better and you'll find that the whole day goes much better.

So, how DO you get up in the mornings?  We'd love to hear about how you start the day!
