Sewing For Children

According to statistics, there are higher and higher numbers of children in the "overweight" and "obese" categories.  For this reason, we've mostly addressed this situation with our Easy Pattern Making classes at Patterns That Fit You.com  -- however I'm happy to say that over the years we've also had requests from people who say their child is so tiny and petite that they also can't find clothes to fit, nor patterns that work right.

We have added the pattern making for petite girls to our listing of classes, as well as our Pattern Making For Children book that has helped many of you.

In the last six months or so, we've gotten several requests for a pattern making class for "skinny" boys.  Now WHY didn't I think of that before, as our little quadruplet grandbabies are pretty small.  Little Zachary (they're 3 1/2 years old now) wears an 18-24 month size - fits perfectly around the waist, but really short!   So, for all of you who have written about "skinny" boys -- I'm working on a Skinny Boys Pattern Making class as we speak!!!  Keep your eyes on PatternsThatFitYou.com so you'll catch it when it goes online.

In addition, I'm surprised at the number of people requesting a pattern making class for "average" girls and boys!  WOW!  You'd think those commercial patterns would at least fit the "average" kids, but apparently they leave a lot to be desired even for average sizes.
Ok, you've gotten my attention!!!!  Skinny Boys is first (cause I need it desperately myself for little Zachary and Brandon - especially Zachary!!).   Then on the list is the pattern making for "average" sized children ----- actually what is "average"?  No two kids are exactly the same - some taller, some shorter - some have a longer torso or short legs, etc, so even the average ones can be hard to fit.

I'm on it --- gonna close down for today so I can concentrate on my writing and drawing!!!
