Kids Day At The Beach
On the days that we keep the quads and big brother Jacob, we try to have some things for them to do, like go to a park that's close to our house, or take them to an indoor play area for children that has big inflatables that they love to jump on, slide on, etc. However, last week was such nice weather that Papaw decided we needed to take them to the beach.
I thought the idea was kinda crazy, after all, there are FIVE of them and only two of us! He simply laid down the rules on the way out there --- nobody gets in the water (we didn't even have bathing suits for them!!) -- we just play in the sand. We stopped at a Family Dollar on the way to the beach so Papaw could run in and buy each of them a bucket and shovel - now how could you play in the sand without a bucket and shovel????
The kids had the best time I've ever seen them have. They dug and dug and ran and ran in the sand. They dug up sea shells, chased some birds, and then tried to bury their legs in the sand so they could ask us to help "find" their legs and feet.
Nobody even attempted to go into the water, or near enough for the waves to go over their feet. There were some pretty good waves coming in, so that might have looked a little scary to them.
Check out the picture --- don't they look like the happiest little group of kiddies you've seen lately!

All the way home they kept saying over and over again what a good time they had; and big brother Jacob would correct them and say what a GREAT time they had!
