How To Sew With Leather and Suede
Years ago when our kids were small I remember teaching the girls how to make leather and suede beads. They were quite easy to make and the girls loved making them into necklaces and bracelets - for themselves as well as for their friends.
I'm very happy to say that one of those girls, Denise, has gone much further than just making leather beads --- she makes leather soft sole shoes for babies and toddlers, leather purses, leather diaper changing stations for "on the go" parents, and a number of other leather items.
Her patterns and instructions have been very popular! For nearly a year now, she's been getting emails from individuals asking how does she sell her leather items, and what could they do to make some money from sewing leather and suede items. So I did what every good mother would have done ---- bugged her to death about putting together a sewing with leather business book! After all, she had the knowledge, the experience -- has written other business books, (the Profitable Clothing Alteration Business book, plus others), so it would only make sense that she put all this together into a manual that would help people get started in the leather and suede business.
WHOOHOO -- she has taken the time to put it all together, and now has "Sewing With Leather as a Home Business" online and ready to go! I've gotten a chance to look through the book, and now I want to get into the leather and suede things. The projects and patterns that she has in the book are SUPER! I've almost convinced myself to get started on a few of the craft things she has listed in there and have some ready for my first craft festival this spring!
Another great thing in the book is that she tells where and how to get FREE leather, as well as lists of leather and suede distributors - hey "free" pieces of leather certainly cuts the cost of the craft items!!
