Have You Seen Printed Foldover Elastic
I was browsing through the SewTalk sewing forum this morning and ran across a lady asking about 5/8" foldover elastic that is printed -- she gave examples of camoflauge, zebra print, tiger print, etc. Because I thought that was such a unique idea and because I've never seen something like that, I figured perhaps some of our readers may be able to help the lady. Her comment is posted in the "Sewing Machine" category. The best I could tell her was to check out ebay, as you can normally find just about anything you can imagine there!
My next comment is completely "off the wall" from sewing and crafting -- but it has to do with "learning". My daughter and son in law have been doing a little "pre school" stuff with the little 3 year old quads and 4 1/2 year old big brother. Little by little they are learning how to sit still for a short time, and LOVE the "pre school" idea. Well, their other Nana brought out alphabet practice writing tablets for each of the kids, so she's also been helping them. They spent a few minutes a day for most of one week learning how to make an A - this week they'll be working on a B, etc.
Last week while all the kids were at our house, we went for a walk around our subdivision (a circular one street subdivision), and Zachary, one of the quads, noticed a sign indicating that the house had an alarm system (advertising sign). He stopped, looked for awhile then called for me -- "Mamaw, look!!!" The other kids were getting ahead so I said "come on Zachary, we're getting behind". But he insisted "Look Mamaw, LOOK!" I realized he wasn't gonna move until I came to look at what he'd found, so I went back. He'd found some A's in the sign and pointed each of them out to me --- "Look, here is an A, and here is another A". He was so proud of himself for finding the A's. WAY TO GO Zachary for identifying the A's, and WAY TO GO Nana and Mommy & Daddy for taking the time to start teaching them!
