Yardsale Follow-up
I can't BELIEVE this is the first post this month!!! YIKES!
First of all, I said I'd let you know how our yard sale went. We had mostly children's things - clothes, little toys, a crib and a few household items; others had mostly furniture they were trying to get rid of so they could buy more --- a variety of items that homes have when holding yard sales.
The ad said "7 am til" ----- and as usual, our first lookers started coming by around 6:30, and a fairly steady stream started coming around 7:30 through about 9-10:00, then people trickled in until around noon, when everyone around us were starting to bring stuff back inside.
We ended up making a little over $200, which we thought was very good considering how cold and windy it was that Saturday -- we figured everybody would be at home bundled up. The neighbors across the street and both sides of us were satisfied with what they sold, and were very pleased that the one neighbor and I took the time to work out the details in getting it organized.
We're talking now about having another one sometime in the spring.
If you live in a subdivision, or have quite a few neighbors nearby, try organizing a "subdivision" or "multi-family" yard sale. The yard sale lovers definitely gravitate to the areas where there are several to many homes in close proximity putting on a yard sale at the same time --- sure beats trying to hold your own and hope people will stop by.
