Children At Our House

The first thing I will say about "children" is how very thankful that our quadruplet grandbabies have been in very good health throughout their first 3 years.  They all had to spend some time in NICU at the hospital when they were first born because they were so premature, but none of them had any major health issues.

We know several families with multiples - triplets or quads - that at least one of the children had major health issues, and in one family all three of the triplets have ongoing health issues (and they are now 10 years old).

I would just like to say THANK YOU to our kind heavenly father who has given us four healthy, rowdy and energetic little ones!  They are such a handful at times, but that's what growing little ones are.

Our "normal" week goes like this -- we pick all five of the children up (quads and 4 year old big brother) Tuesday morning around 8 am, keep them throughout the day and take them back home around 5 pm after naptime.  Then Thursday evening we pick them up around 5 pm, after naptime, and keep them overnight and our daughter picks them up Friday afternoon after naptime.   This does give the mom and dad a LITTLE bit of time to get some actual work done with a few hours in a row.  If something comes up, or the parents have major projects we'll pick them up Tuesday morning and keep them until Thursday night.  Anyway you look at it, the parents NEED a little break from kiddies to catch up on their work.

The past two weeks all of the kids have had colds, runny noses and in general have been feeling pretty miserable, and as my daughter puts it "when the kids are miserable, everyone is miserable"!  HOWEVER, I didn't see much for runny noses last night when we picked them up, and they are pretty much back to their normal selves, so it looks like the little sickley days may be in the past.  WHOOHOO!!!!

Maybe I can get a picture or two of them now that we won't have runny noses and watery eyes!  I'll work on that today!
