Popular Plus Size Clothing Pattern Websites
Normally, I would be talking about great websites where I've purchased items, or where I've found super patterns and tutorials, etc, but today I must talk about a couple of my own sites.
With a population of adults and children alike expanding to plus sizes or obese, we have had a tremendous amount of interest and questions about our Big Beautiful People and Plus Size Children websites. Statistics show that over two-thirds of American adults are either overweight or obese, and among children ages 6 to 11 over 30 percent are overweight to obese.
Now that school is getting close to starting (ours starts around mid-August) - we're being overwhelmed with emails and calls from mothers and grandmothers who simply can't find clothing patterns or ready-to-wear garments that will fit their overweight children. I'm happy to say that we DO have an answer to their clothing issues --- our pattern making classes (for women as well as children) use the individual's OWN personal measurements for making the patterns, therefore every pattern is guaranteed to fit those measurements. It makes no difference if the individual is tall, short, obese or simply overweight -- the patterns are made to THOSE specific measurements.
We have classes for skirts, dresses, blouses, shorts/slacks - you name it, it's there! In addition at the Plus Size Children site, we also have ready made clothing patterns (upper left corner heading "patterns") designed for the plus size / overweight children. All of the patterns on the site are made according to ACTUAL plus size children's measurements, rather than using "average" sizes, as the commercial patterns use. Simply compare your childs' measurements to those listed for each pattern, and in most cases an 8-10-12 pattern WILL actually fit your 8-10-12 year old child because of the plus size measurements incorporated into each pattern.
