July 4th Weekend

Well, we're winding down the 4th of July weekend.  We are so thankful for those, past and present, who have and are helping keep this country a free nation so we can continue to celebrate it's birthday.

We got to celebrate by keeping our quadruplet grandbabies and their big brother Jacob for a couple of days.  They are just growing sooooo fast, and are learning new things every day!

Jacob (gonna be 4 the end of this month) is now doing dishes as his "job".  I leave a few plastic cups, bowls and a little silverware for him to wash, just so he can learn some responsibility.  He LOVES doing the dishes, and if he ever sees me doing some ahead of him, he comes running "MAMAW! You KNOW that's MY job!".   So I say that I'm just getting the water ready, and he runs to get his stool to stand on and start washing his part of the dishes.

Yesterday, Jacob informed me that his "babies" are getting pretty tall now, and pretty soon he needs to teach them how to wash dishes too.  (He considers the 2 1/2 year old quads HIS babies).  I informed him that he's right, those babies need to know how to wash dishes too, as well as to dust furniture and vacuum floors like he does.  He just beamed - he LOVES to teach his babies how to do things!  And that's a good thing because it appears that "work" is his middle name!  He's always "working" on something, fixing one of the little cars, being a "delivery man", or a "recycle man", or he makes chocolate pudding by adding some dirt to a small container of water - all of this in addition to his regular jobs that are his chores to teach him how to be responsible!!  Way to go Jacob!!!
