Quilted tot toppers

Just finished a quilting project that I just love!  My quadruplet grandbabies (2 1/2 yrs old) and their big brother 3 1/2 years old, simply needed bigger "bibs" for finger painting and other messy craft projects.  I took a bib pattern that I had and extended it about 4-6 inches and widened it a couple inches and am calling them "tot toppers".  I cut the toppers out of muslin, then got out my box of scraps, and proceeded to cut various size pieces and pinned them to the muslin, overlapping the edges.  When finished with the design and pinning I used a wide satin stitch zig zag to sew all the seam lines.  To complete the toppers I used wide double fold bias tape to sew around the outside edges, then iron on velcro dots for the back closure.  Of course I had to have five of them so there would be enough to go around, plus I made an extra one for my own "show and tell".
