Stain removal
It would be a rare person indeed who never had to deal with stains of some kind - spills, pricked finger while sewing, children "cleaning" chocolate off their fingers by wiping it on their shirt or pants, or a multitude of other types of stains. I've located a few little tips on stain removal and would like to pass them along to you. Chocolate stains on washable clothing can be easily removed by saturating the stains with carbonated water and then laundering the garments in the usual manner. A handy tip from our dry cleaner friend: if you prick your finger and get a blood spot on your sewing or craft project, you can remove the stain with a chemical that's in your own saliva. Simply moisten a small area of a kleenex and rub out the spot. Sounds crazy, but it works!! To remove a lipstick stain on silk, place a piece of masking tape over the stain, quickly pull it off, and then dab off any remaining color with talcum powder. And finally, to remove red wine stains out of washable garments, coat with table salt and rinse with water. I would love to hear about other stain removing procedures that you may use - simply click the "add comment" button and pass along your tip.
