Learn pattern making the easy way

Nearly every day we get emails from individuals who simply can't get store bought patterns to fit right, no matter how much altering they've done to the pattern.  After so much frustration, they decide they would be better off to make their own patterns, but don't know where to start.  To each of you wanting to learn pattern making, I would suggest that you start with something easy, then move on to the harder garments.  Skirts and slacks are by far the easiest to start with because they require the fewest measurements for the patterns.  Try drawing and making our free six-gore skirt that is located at PatternsThatFitYou.com/freeclasses4.htm.  The simple step by step instructions are easy to follow, and will give you an idea of how we do the instructions / illustrations for each of our pattern making classes.  Whether you choose to start with the skirt, or jump right into the dress, slacks or blouse pattern making classes, all instructions are written with step by step instructions and have diagrams and illustrations to go with each step.  I always tell everyone that my husband was my first student and he didn't even know how to sew -- the test was to make sure that my instructions were clear enough for him, or any first time pattern making student to follow!  I invite you to post a comment on the blog to let me know how YOU liked the free class.
