Animal Pals Back Pack
We have been talking about and promoting our (my daughter and I) pattern website, Patterns2Go.com We have been very pleased with the feedback from customers telling us how much they appreciate the website, gratification of instant downloading of the patterns, etc. Well, we just got an email from a very happy customer, who wrote the following: "we live in a farming town, so I just loved the idea of making the Animal Pals Back Packs for our children to carry books, etc to school. I made the cow for my son and the duck for my daughter. The very first day we waited at the bus stop, the other children and their mothers were asking where did we get those CUTE back packs. I told them that I'd made them, and immediately two of the mothers asked how much I would charge to make one for their child. We talked a bit about the different animals that were included in the pattern, and I ended up telling them I'd bring the pictures of the various animals to the bus stop that afternoon, and would have worked up a price by then. WOW! Looks like I have a little business started since I made the two back packs. This is perfect timing, as my husband and I were just talking about where could we get a little extra cash this time of year. Thank you SO MUCH for this site and the patterns you have available."
I immediately sent an email back suggesting that she take some pictures of her son and daughter with the back packs on, then make a few "posters" with the pictures and verbage letting the readers know that she is in the "back pack" sewing business. I mentioned that she could probably put the posters up at grocery stores, sewing stores, laundramats, etc where the in and out traffic would be able to see them. Thank you for writing and good luck in your newly found business.
