HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
I would like to personally wish each of you a happy and blessed New Year! Here I am, on the computer since 4:30 this morning. As you can see, the new year managed to come on in without my countdown - I'm so thankful that it does this each year and I don't have to worry about how I can keep my eyes open until 12:01!!
Our New Year's Day is usually spent the same each year - football and parades on every channel in the morning, then get down to the serious football games in the afternoon. Some of the kids stop by to watch this game or that game with their Dad. Warm-up food, salads and snacks have been prepared yesterday so we can all have a relaxing day. Me???? I get my new calendar out to put in any doctor appointments, family and friends' birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, etc, so hopefully I won't miss too many of them during the year. After the calendar is updated, my FUN day begins. I set up my laptop on the end table, with http://Patterns2Go.com visible. I watch football out of the corner of one eye, and start looking through the http://Patterns2Go.com site for projects that I can make for friends and family for the first few months of this upcoming year. I purchase the patterns and immediately download them. As the commercials air and half time comes and goes, I'm back and forth to my sewing room putting together the items needed for certain projects from my stash of fabric, notions, etc. This is such a FUN day! Sometimes I have ALL the items needed for the projects I've selected, so I put them into a zip lock bag with the pattern and the name of the person who gets the gift, as well as the DATE needed (birthday, baby shower, etc), so I can get the project placed into my "project" box and get ready to work on it. Other projects will require a trip to a fabric store to get whatever remaining items are necessary to complete the gift item.
